Making a will helps your family to understand your wishes and provides your trustees with a legal way to deal with your estate.

If you would like to help Anglican Living to provide assistance to older people, please make provision in your will for a bequest to Anglican Living. You can do it one of two ways, by leaving either a fixed amount, or a percentage of your estate after all expenses have been met.

Your lawyer can help you to draw up a will, or add a codicil to your existing will.

Wording for your will

Subject to advice from your lawyer, the following is suggested:

“I give to the Social Service Council of the Diocese of Christchurch for the work of Anglican Living, [the sum of $_________] OR [ % of my estate] to be used for its general purposes and I declare that the receipt of the secretary, treasurer or other officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the payment and my trustee shall not be bound to see to its application.”
